With guest speakers:

Sue Davenport, who has a 23 year track record for growing and developing numerous businesses including Fundraising, MBI and two Exits. She has also led a successful MBO. During her time as CEO at this company she grew sales revenues from £2m to £12m and net profits from £400k to £3m - eventually selling the company to Private Equity achieving an excellent exit price for the shareholders. Sue will talk about the strategies used to optimise exit value and will also share the valuable lessons she learnt throughout the sale of Marimatech A/S, a market-leading industrial IOT company in marine positioning and piloting systems which was recently sold to Swedish global engineering Group Trelleborg SA.

Sanjeev Gandhi is a Chartered Accountant with over 15 years of corporate finance and strategy experience focused on the technology, telecoms and media sectors. He leads CACI’s corporate development and M&A activities in UK and Europe. CACI is a NYSE listed IT services company with revenues of over $4.5bn and over 21,000 staff. CACI’s UK business comprises an IT software & services operation and a digital marketing services business. Sanjeev’s previous roles include several years of senior transaction advisory experience with PwC’s Technology corporate finance team in London and Grant Thornton’s lead advisory team in London. He has also spent time in GT’s Bangalore office in India where he was responsible for advising technology companies on M&A and fund-raise activities. Previously Sanjeev was a Director with Strategy & Investment Partners and with Waypoint in London advising businesses in the marketing services and media sectors on growth strategy, funding and M&A.

Trevor Hope, Partner at Mobeus Equity Partners - Trevor joined Mobeus in 2016 to develop and lead the firm’s growth capital investment strategy. For over 20 years, Trevor has invested growth capital into UK businesses and led change of ownership deals via acquisitions / MBOs across a wide range of sectors including technology, media, leisure, business services, healthcare, telecoms and consumer services. He started his career in banking with Barclays, Barclays de Zoete Wedd and the Corporate & Institutional Banking Division of the Royal Bank of Scotland. Later he moved into venture and growth capital investing with 3i (Thames Valley, Palo Alto, Boston and London) and Beringea, where as Chief Investment Officer he developed and led the investment strategy for £150 million of Venture Capital Trust funds.

We are also delighted to welcome Simon Halberstam, Technology Law Partner at SMAB, who will be joining the panel and sharing his top legal tips for the M&A process.

Brian Parker Head of M&A at ICON Corporate Finance, will present the major trends in the Technology M&A market which remains in rude health having seen the number of deals increase for 6 years in a row. In particular he will address what the impact of Brexit has had on UK Tech M&A market.
