Funding or Exit? - The Inside Story

techUK, Saint Bride Street, London, UK
3.00pm - 5.30pm

Do we raise capital and stay with the business for another 3-5 years? Or, do we sell the company and exit the business after a suitable handover period? - Should I stay or should I go now? Sometimes the choice of which route to take is not straightforward.

Structures have become more complex with the advent of the partial exit, higher valuations being paid by private equity and the weight of significant new equity and debt funds being raised, all of which must be balanced against the wave of overseas acquirers in UK who are looking to expand, and are prepared to pay for it.

There are many factors at play, such as management team profile, company growth prospects, revenue/profit track record, scalability and technology roadmap. At ICON, we advise technology clients on both selling and fund raising. Join us to hear 2 short presentations directly from ICON clients on why they chose to sell, followed by a panel session joined by ICON's Eddie Harding, giving you the inside story on what the exit/funding process is really like.

Guest Speakers: Mark Travis, ex-CEO of membership software business Silverbear which was sold to a company owned by Aquiline Partners, a US private equity fund who have invested $2.4bn in their portfolios Chris Williams, ex-CEO of patient feedback software business Optimum Contact which was sold to IQVIA, a $24bn US HealthTech provider There will be the usual opportunity to network over drinks. Free to attend for technology CEOs & their Board. If you would like more information please email laura@iconcorpfin.co.uk
