Monica Shupikai Simmons

Director and Head of Africa Tech Investment Banking

An experienced director in technology corporate finance/investment banking, Monica is highly skilled in M&A, Capital Raises, Management Consulting, Valuations and Financial Accounting.

Monica is passionate about pursuing international transactions, particularly in Africa. Her focuses include FinTech, valuations and due diligence.

Prior to ICON, Monica spent over five years at Deloitte providing management consulting and corporate finance advisory services, following over six years at PwC providing financial advisory services to their respective financial services clients in both London and New York. Her clients included leading global banking institutions, Investment Management, Asset Management and Life Insurance companies.

Monica has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Diploma in Financial Strategy from the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford (England). She has a bachelor’s in business science, with double majors in Accounting and Finance from the University Of Cape Town (South Africa). In addition, Monica is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Outside of work, Monica enjoys reading, travel and watching the beautiful game of football (she is a HUGE Manchester United fan!)
